Buckwheat pancakes. They have sadly discontinued making it. I actually w rote to them a while back inquiring about it and they did say they discontinued them.
Bummer! It was something I remember eating as a kid, and enjoying with my Dad. I’ve tried other mixes but have not enjoyed them.
I did find online a recipe given out by someone at Aunt Jemima. I have tried it and must say it is pretty darn close to the original. It calls for
dark buckwheat flour but I could not find it, so I got the regular kind. So, go ahead, get out the mixing bowl, turn on the griddle and enjoy some Buckwheat Pancakes!! Let me know what you think of them!! I thought… YUM!
Make buckwheat pancakes by using Aunt Jemima Original pancake mix and buckwheat flour. The recipe is listed below for you:
Ingredients:
3/4 cup (175 ml) Aunt Jemima Original pancake mix
1/3 cup (75 ml) buckwheat flour (purchase dark flour)
1/2 tsp (2 ml) baking powder
Directions:
Stir dry ingredients together and add milk and egg as per package instructions.
